I am a single digit handicapper and was previously playing Mizuno mp57. After had a test on the Titleist 712 MB, I found they are better irons for me.
Compared to the previous version the Titleist MB 712 irons have a nicer satin finish that looks a little more contemporary than the previous polished chrome look. The tweaks to the sole design and the heel and trailing edge reliefs do make this a lovely iron to hit, especially from tight lies. It also enables a little more mass to go into the muscle back behind the face for a more solid feel. For elite players, the 712 mb is an excellent blade iron but for amateurs it probably a little too demanding. Amateurs can find the Titleist CB 712 irons which are a little more forgiving with similar Tour level performance.
Titleist 712 AP2 Irons own features specifically requested by Titleist's Tour players. A forged carbon steel head is aided by a high-density tungsten weight, creating increased playability. AP2 is one of the best Titleist irons ever, cruel ball hit, solid feel and control. Allowed to control the ball. If you have not tried it, do it.
The Titleist AP1 712 irons feature two tungsten weights in the sole of the club that increases the MOI of the club without having to make the head longer. This means that it is very forgiving for its size and Titleist say the shot disperson is smaller than the previoius AP1 model.
